Who We Are
Outside General Counsel & Litigation for Growing Businesses and Nonprofit Organizations
Counsel That Knows Your Operation - We work like embedded counsel. You get an attorney who knows your business or organization, your contracts, and your risk profile - without the cost of a full-time hire.
Built for Operators and Mission Leaders - Construction subcontractors, trade contractors, service businesses, owner-led companies, churches, ministries, and faith-based nonprofits. We speak the language of jobs, change orders, governance, and mission - not just statutes.
Straight Answers, Flat Fees - Subscription and flat-fee structures so you know what counsel costs before you call. No surprise invoices. No padded hours.
Why Clients Choose Baruko Law
Baruko Law was built on a simple idea: growing businesses and mission-driven organizations deserve the same caliber of legal counsel as the companies and institutions with full in-house teams - without the overhead, the billable padding, or the inefficiency that comes with traditional firm structures.
Founder Paul Konadu is a Texas-licensed attorney whose background includes in-house counsel, legal operations, and risk management experience across both Fortune 500 corporate environments and the construction industry. He is also the founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization - which means he brings firsthand operational fluency to the legal and governance challenges these organizations face every day. That cross-sector perspective shapes how the firm serves its clients today: practical, embedded, mission-aware, and direct.
We don't sell legal theory. We sell legal outcomes that let you keep building and keep advancing the work that matters.
Meet Attorney Paul Konadu
Paul Konadu is the founder of Baruko Law and a trusted legal advisor to growing businesses and mission-driven organizations navigating contracts, disputes, governance, and the day-to-day legal demands of running a company or organization. He brings a rare combination of legal training, operational business experience, and direct industry insight to every matter he handles.
Paul is a Texas-licensed attorney. During law school, he served as Vice President of the Federal Bar Association and graduated with academic distinction - a reflection of the discipline and leadership he brings to client work.
Paul brings substantial real-world business and legal experience to every matter he handles. Prior to entering the legal profession, he worked in professional sales, business development, and risk management within Fortune 500 corporate environments, including direct in-house corporate experience that provided early insight into how legal decisions shape business operations, profitability, and long-term growth.
After being admitted to practice, Paul went on to serve both as in-house counsel and outside general counsel for business clients, advising on contracts, commercial disputes, governance, compliance, and day-to-day operational matters. He has also developed hands-on experience in construction industry legal operations and risk management, working closely with executive leadership of multi-state contractors on complex contractual and liability issues.
That combination of business acumen, legal counsel, and practical in-house experience - both before and after licensure - uniquely shapes the strategic, business-minded approach behind Baruko Law’s Risk Shield Counsel engagements today.
That combination gives Paul a perspective most attorneys don't have: he understands jobsites, margins, change orders, vendor leverage, governance, compliance, and the cost of legal friction in operations-heavy businesses and mission-driven organizations alike. Clients get counsel that aligns with how their company or organization actually runs - not legal theory delivered from a distance.
Paul is also the founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, giving him firsthand experience with the governance, compliance, and operational challenges that nonprofit organizations face from the inside. That perspective allows him to serve nonprofit clients not just as outside counsel, but as someone who has built and led one himself.
Paul's practice focuses on outside general counsel, contracts, and commercial litigation through two flagship programs: Risk Shield Counsel for businesses, and Covenant Counsel for nonprofit organizations. He has represented clients in contract negotiations and business disputes, securing favorable resolutions and settlements, and he serves as outside general counsel to companies and organizations that need ongoing legal support without the cost of a full-time hire.
At Baruko Law, Paul is guided by one principle: Protect what you've built. Empower what you're becoming.
